CA Victorian Fishing Report 31/07/13

The fishing in the Snowy River estuary is very good. Many reports of anglers getting plenty of fish all the way from the Marlo entrance all the way up to Lake Corringle and Lake Curlip. Off shore the fishing is also very good and with the deep entrance at Marlo it gives anglers another outlet to the ocean.

Big schools are in the system and anglers are taking advantage, many reports have come in of anglers bagging out on bream using a wide range of baits. Plenty of Luderick are schooling around the rock groins that surround the islands and river banks. Best results using sandworm. Mullet are also in big numbers and are biting on sandworm. Estuary Perch are schooling around snags and structures, best results on lures.

The surf beaches are fishing well; anglers have reported getting plenty of salmon and Tailor. Off shore the fishing is also great; reports have come in of good bags of Snapper and Nannygai and Gummy Shark being taken from Marlo reef. Plenty of flathead, gurnard, pinkie Snapper, morwong, Barracouta, squid and Gummy Shark being caught off Cape Conran.
