Eathorne’s Compleat Angler

I opened Eathorne’s Sports Village in an empty shop on the 14th February 1974, yes a lifetime ago. The shop was mainly fishing when we first opened but we have slowly added sporting goods over the 33 years we have been open. In the early 1980 we joined the Sportscene Group and then when Sportscene joined the ARL group we changed our name to Eathorne’s Sportspower in 2002.

When Compleat Angler came along we decided this would give us a great opportunity to invest in our fishing department.

In 2001 we moved from our original position of 150 square metres to our own 2 storeys building in the heart of Ayr. We now have 600 sq mts on the ground floor and 400 sq mts upstairs. My wife is a financial planner and we have used 200 sq mts of the upstairs space for office space for her use and the rest is storage.

We have entry from the main street of Ayr and also have a car park out the back, which leads onto the next street. Customers can enter our store through a back entrance from the car park.
