QLD Fishing Report

Brought to you by Compleat Angler Mackay:

New moon tides next week will have the bait nets out working along New Beach, McEwens, Campwin, Armstrong and Cape Palmerston. Castnets will be used in most creeks, Blackrock, Cluny and Conow, Rabbit Island, front of Murray and Constant, Bakers and Rocky Dam. The creeks mentioned are holding grunter, flathead and fingermark using live prawn while crabbing those areas has been encouraging. Flathead and whiting are still around Cullen Island in the Pioneer as well as Ron Camm up to the Hospital Bridge. Fish late afternoon along the deeper sand gutters on the incoming to the top of the tide at Town and Illawong Beach right down to Bakers Creek keeping in mind that you need to cross back over Shellgrit Creek. Large mouth nannygai are still a happening thing when we can get to the channel, the odd juvenile small mouth has been a by catch and need to be released. Kinchant, Teemburra and Peter Faust Dams are fishing well for barra on the troll out the front along the creek beds. At Faust it seems the bigger the lure presented the better the results.

Good Luck.
